Probably the most commercially successful project I’ve ever had a connection to must be this reissue of the debut album by Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, which is due for release in the autumn of 2011 and contains bonus tracks.
This was purely a technical project rather than a creative one. As with many of the reissues of albums which I’ve worked on, the original artwork was created in the days before computers were commonly used in the printing process, so I had to recreate and reassemble all of the various elements by scanning and editing the original components (pieces of artwork, films, lyrics etc).
I don’t know what my younger self would have thought about my involvement with this, as it’s fair to say that I was never a fan! (Jimbob and Fruitbat: in the unlikely event that you’re reading this, no offence!). Many thanks to the people at Big Cat and SRD for asking me to do it though. Strangely and coincidentally, there is a Paul Jackson mentioned in the album’s original thanks.
It’s distributed by SRD, so should be widely available in shops in the UK and beyond.
