In addition to working with images, as demonstrated on the other pages of this site, I also enjoy working with words. I have always been interested in language and the appearance of the written word and hopefully this shows in my design work.
As well as the more design-led typography, I also find pleasure in the typesetting which my job sometimes entails. I have some experience of typesetting in European languages other than English.
Additionally, I also proofread British English for spelling, grammar, consistency and accuracy.
My love of language also extends to those other than my mother tongue: I am a keen German speaker, and as such get occasional commissions to translate German into English (mainly press releases and features on/interviews with musicians).
I now also speak reasonable Dutch, although I’ve not yet managed to find a way to be paid to use this knowledge in a professional context. Perhaps one day…
